Think of it this way - he's going to look gross and muddy too. Don't worry about how you look; it'll just turn him off if you moan and whine about how dirty you are.
If anything, this is a good opportunity to flirt with him a little. Smile and make a cute, teasing comment about how HE looks. Like everyone else said; confidence is key.

The most attractive thing in a person is confidence, so if you can flash him your best smile when covered in mud, he'll pay attention.
Laugh about being filthy and try not to freak out too much.
I know my boyfriend hates it when I moan about my hair not being straight or whatever!!

I have been on lots of muddy field trips, and hey, the best thing to get muddy is your legs, they are waterproof, they wash quickly, they dry quickly aswell. Being practicle and beautiful is a difficault combination but you casn always wear shorts and put some nice trackies in your bag. I find that it's best to go dark, if not black, because whites get dirty so easily. You should try tracksuits that have no elastic at the bottom, as these always look more sophistcated. These styles look the best, though they are not as warm as cotton, here is an url of the first pair I came across: http://clearancesportswear.co.uk/images/product/a833c6e7153d21c40268cf8ef857846d.jpg
You probs have a pair if nopt you can get them really cheaply in tesco and primark.
Have fun, and remeber, it doesn't REALLY matter what you look like, as long as you are happy.

PS Good luck with this boy.

Confidence doesn't depend on how you look or what you wear. Be yourself, and be happy to be yourself. If you are happy with yourself then the confidence will automatically be there, and you could be wearing the worst, dirtiest outfit in the world and it wouldn't matter.
