Hello, I'm a 14 year old girl, and I have a 'disease' called Trichotillomania. This is the wikipedia definition, prolly much better than mine: "Trichotillomania (TTM) (also known as "Trichotillosis"[1]), or "trich" as it is commonly known, is an impulse control disorder or form of self-injury characterized by the repeated urge to pull out scalp hair, eyelashes, facial hair, nose hair, pubic hair, eyebrows or other body hair, sometimes resulting in noticeable bald patches.[2]:645 Trichotillomania is classified in the DSM-IV as an impulse control disorder"

sorry that was pretty long. anyways. I used to have no eyebrows and eyelashes, but I've 'grown out' of the condition, and I have beautiful eyebrows and long eyelashes. the problem is I still have no self confidence. how can I get that back? for the past few years I've sort of avoided people at school etc, but now I'm looking for someone to be with sexually. how do i let people know that I've changed? ..

Before now i was a loner everyone hated me but they never got to know me and i wasn't very confident so i knew i had to change so i changed my fashion and it helped and i started to talk to alot more people and became popular and in a month or so i got boy friends.

Another option is go out and do something wild like die your hair, become a chav, emo or something like that. become vegeterian just something that everyone know's that theirs a new you around and is up for anything in the future.

One main point is just to talk to everyone even to start with is smile at anyone you'd like to become friends with in the future when you walk past them.

And glam yourself up a bit just to say i'm not going to hurt myself anymore i'm going to make sure i'm as pretty as ever.

hope this will help you in the future, good luck
