What right does society have to make us so insecure about ourselves when on an individual basis we don't care about the appearance or ideals of others. I wouldn't judge anyone at all and think everyone is perfect in their own way and yet I sit here pathetically worrying about my penis size, or if my girlfriend will still be looking at the muscle guys down the gym or if I'm being mocked because I'm not wearing the latest hair style. It makes me feel so pathetic to worry about it all but I do!!!!WHY!!? I know it's said all the time but how can we escape this oppression that's been created? This shallow judgment has become an omnipresent force that has been personified in a form of fear that we think is lurking behind the goodness of everyones soul and it's making me lose faith in myself and everyone else! HELP!!

You don't have to be thrilled about it. But it's not the mondern culture's fault that human nature is the way it is.
Start owning up to instances in your life where you demonstrated some of this "shallow-ness." It doesn't just happen for big things, little everday things add up too. The sooner you face & forgive yourself for this, the sooner you can forgive others for it.

It's only becomes shallow if you let it swallow you up...The worlds a great place and great people are in it. It is whatever PERCEPTION YOU HOLD that makes the difference to how you feel in this world. Whats real to you and whats not.
