I am 5'3" and lost about 25lbs in 6 weeks - but I wouldn't recommend it!!! It wasn't healthy and it made me spiral out of control and into a diet and exercise addict. I did NOTHING but eat, sleep and breathe "losing weight". Pick a more realistic goal and treat your body with love and you will lose the weight you want to. I would recommend about 2-3lbs/week; which is about 1/2 of what you are looking to lose in the 4-5week timeframe. But, that's okay! Because if you do it correctly, your body will still change a great deal. You'll be firmer, you'll find weight has shifted, things will look better and you'll feel better. My best recommendation is be strict with your diet if you REALLY want to lose weight. Eat well - and often to keep metabolism up - 6 small meals a day will keep your body working all day long. Fill them with whole grains, veggies, fruit, lean meats, you get the idea. Drink WATER (why waste calories on soda or sports drinks?). And be faithful to an exercise routine. Find whatever it is that you enjoy - and if you get bored easily mix it up. I was a big runner, so I ran to lose the weight. But, you could walk/play tennis/swim. Definitely DEFINITELY mix cardio with weight training, though. I faithfully lifted weights (not huge ones cause I wanted to be lean not a body builder) about 3 days a week. People - especially women - underestimate the importance of weight training in conditioning and fine tuning their body (even for weightloss). YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOAL - but you have to commit to it. Good luck! And, P.S. don't forget to LOVE your body no matter what size you are - the more you love it, the more it loves you back :)

Hi,

That's 5 -6 pounds per week. If you lose it that fast, your body won't be able to get all the calories that it needs from fat. It will burn lean muscle tissue as well. Not only is that unhealthy, you are losing the stuff that keeps you looking toned. Also, muscle is a very big fat burner. Even when you are doing nothing, it burns fat more than other body tissues do. So you don't want to lose it. Also, if you lose weight quickly, you are almost guarunteed to put it all back on again, and a bit more. This is because your body will think a famine is going on, and it will be prepared to fight forever to put the weight back on again. Almost no one has the will power to fight their body like this. 2 pounds per week is the max you should be thinking about. You should be achieving that mainly through exercise whilst eating a healthy diet which is not excessively low in calories. By the way, you might lose more than a couple of pounds in the first week or 2. This will be water loss. After that it will slow down. Good luck

love-him agony auntHi babe,

It all depends on what type of exercise you do, and also on the healthy eating plan you choose. It also depends on the amount of calories you consume and burn per day. I read on a NHS website, that you should exercise around 2 hours after eating breakfast because before ( you will stop sooner because you wont have as much energy ) and ( straight after you eat, your food is still digesting ) so you again will stop sooner than if you wait. Then the same for lunch. Make sure you have the 5 a day fruit & veg, and also 8 - 10 pints of water a day, and you should do fine.

I hope i helped & good luck.. =)
