So far I usually feel a kick or two and sometimes it pushes up against my abdomen and it looks like I have a tumor sticking out of my belly. Is one or two movements a day okay at this stage, and when am I supposed to start paying attention to it (ex. 20 weeks - 25 weeks??) Any info on the subject will help! Reply to this Question Share |

You can generally only start to feel the baby kick by about 16 weeks, and these are v tiny movements and you don't feel them often (only when he/she collides with your sides!). It's the same at 18 weeks. I have friends who only felt it first when they were 20 weeks or so. It gradually increases in strength and frequency, as the baby gets bigger. It's only when he/she is in the last trimester that you really feel a lot ... and anyhow, it varies so much from baby to baby! My first pretty much only kicked in the evening, but my second kicked loads - sometimes in the middle of the night! She is a Duracell bunny now she is out, as well : )
The kick counting is, I think, only really for the last trimester, but have to say I never did it. If I suddenly thought 'oh, haven't felt him/her kick for a while' I would poke them until they did!!!!!!! (sure it didn't hurt!)
: )
don't worry - at the mo you would expect to feel much

There is no set amount of kicks you should feel, the fact that you are feeling kicking at all is a good sign.
The time to get concerned if you go a period of time with out feeling kicking (probably 3-5 days)
I'm by no means a midwife so you should speak to her or your health visitor for advise on your pregnancy as everyone is different and I know the location of the placenta and the way the baby is sitting has something to do with it.
