I am a fifteen year old boy, my foreskin doesn't come back, I believe this is called phimosis. I don't know what to do, I dont want to tell my parents, it isnt a problem, i just feel uncomfortable with it.

What can I do, and how long will it take to fix?

Sandman agony auntRight, this won't fix itself. You'll need to inform your parents because they will need to take you to the doctor to have it checked out. The doctor may have to do an "intervention" in order to get your foreskin to retract. One question: was the foreskin EVER able to retract? If it was - and now it's not able to retract - this is a sign of a slightly larger problem and will need to be checked almost immediately.

If you're REALLY embarrased about telling your parents - you can just call your doctor yourself and ask to be seen by him/her. They can check you out with actually notifing your parents. However, your parents will see the bill and might question why you needed to see the doctor in the first place. So to make life a little easier - at least tell your dad (since he's got a penis too) so he can take your to the doctor and get checked.

Hope this helps.

dapone 1 agony auntDear anon,

the problem you have can only be treated by a medical professional, therefore i suggest you go to the doctor, and see what advise he gives you, at this stage if you are still not wanting to tell your parents then do not, but i think after you have seen the doctor you may want to discuss this issue with them, and that would be the mature thing to do.

good luck

Danielepew agony auntThat is indeed phimosis. It can be corrected very easily, and you should not feel ashamed to tell your parents about it. They won't mind your telling them. By the way, it doesn't fix by itself.
