I started the first packet yesterday - but it was after my period (the week before) had finished. I know that if you take it on the first day of your period it works straight away, but since I didn't, how long do I have to wait before I have full protection. I've done several google searchs and they say a week, but I'm hoping to get a few opinions in confirmation.ThankyouP.S I've checked the leaflet inside the pill packet and it says nothing about what to do in my situation.

I would wait a month just to be on the safe side.

You should be fine after 1 week. Wait 2 if you want to make sure. You could also ask at the pharmacy if you're still not sure.

Leaflets inside the package can be outdated as well from what I've heard, but the best thing is for you to ask your doctor. I think one week sounds correct though, and thats the "rule" I live by. Im on microgynon myself.
