How long should I wait before asking her to go steady?

Alright so just wondering here, I've never really been in a relationship, all I've had to date is various flings.

Currently I'm having a thing with a girl who has had two relationships, both lasted more than a couple years.

I know she sees a relationship in our future, and so do I, just not quite yet. What I'm wondering is, how long should I wait before asking her to go steady? I'm sure she'd say yes now, but we've only known each other a very short time.
