We're both at home at the moment as its the holidays but we live a long way from each other so haven't seen each other in three weeks. We've been texting everyday so far since we've been home but yesterday the conversation ended and i didn't know what else to say so i just didn't reply. He's mentioned before that he's not used to texting someone everyday and i can tell he's different over text compared to in person. Its now been another day and neither of us have texted each other. Im just wondering how long its acceptable to leave it for without texting and whether i should text first or let him text me? I dont want him to think im annoyed at him or something but also dont want to come across as needy. I understand that texting all day everyday isn't the best thing to do when seeing someone.

You don't need to text each other every day to show that you are interested in each other. Maybe when you head to bed send him a text tell him you hope he had a good day and that you are looking forward to seeing him when he gets back. Then end it saying good night and see if he replies. That leaves it open for him then to write back.

Make a date for your next meeting and leave it at that. You can't stoke a romance on txts, particularly with someone you hardly know.
