writes:Hi, i've been on the mini pill less than a month but its causing very irregular bleeding so I want to come off it and just stick with condoms. Anyway my question is; how long do I need to keep taking it before I come off it, if the last time I had sex minus a condom was around Tuesday. Do I need to wait a week? Or can I just stop? Seriously its driving me crazy, I just want to stop it. Cheers!

 You can stop taking the pill as long as you are prepared to not have sex until you get another form of contraception. Your bleeding probably won't go back to normal straight away though.There are lots of other forms of contraception so don't feel under pressure to stick with this one if you hate it.

 you should contact your doctor and not just stop the pill without a consult.
and ask the doctor what other options you have... there are other brands and types of pills.
