Sometimes it takes practice before you can easily insert a tampon. So if you don’t succeed on the first attempt, try again.
Start by washing your hands.
Try standing; putting one foot on the bathtub helps.
Hold the tampon applicator with your thumb and middle finger.
Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. Use a bit of Vaseline on the tip to make insertion easier.
Use your other hand to open your vagina. Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina. Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube.
Gently pull the two tubes out together.
You should not feel the tampon in your body. Change the tampon every 4-6 hours and use the lightest absorbency.
Gently pull the string to remove the tampon.
No matter if you use a pad or tampon-never flush them down the toilet. Make sure you wrap them up so no one else has to view, touch or smell soiled products. Pads are NOT better at all, with a tampon its like not being on your period at all. Get a applicator one, they are easier. There are basically 2 tubes, an inner one and a outer one. You pull the inner one down untill it makes one big tube, push it in until you have the first half in, then push the inner tube back up. Then take both tubes away. There is a detail diagram in the box anyway :)
