Hi all,

I have a few questions regarding preparation for sex:

1). Do all of you here request your partner to go for checkup prior to the actual intercourse, if he/she is a new partner? Or do you rely on trust? What can you do if your partner refuses to go for checkups?

2). Besides the birth control pill and condom combination, are there other birth control combinations that have low cost and high success rate as well?

3). Usually what's the cost of an abortion? How long does the process take and what physiological/physical impacts will the female experience?

Thanks for the replies,

Devil Crazy

I thought all the other aunt's answers were very good and I agree with them,

But I thought I'd add that abortion can (although not very often) leave a woman infertile.

Good Luck, Emivia. x

Ok in order:

1. Always use condoms with a new partner to protect against STI's. But when you are getting long term in a relationship you should be comfortable enough to suggest you both go and get checked out at a clinic.

2. There are other forms of contraception but using the pill and condoms is the easiest way and pretty safe. There is also an implant which can be put into the female's arm - it's basically being on the pill but not having to take it every day. There is also the coil but that involves having it fitted into the uterus by a doctor and is not as simple as the above 2 options. It really should be let upto your girlfriend which pill or options she takes as each has side effects that can be different for each girl so she has to experiment.

3. Cost differs depending on your country. But it is really not advisable as it will leave both of you with horrible feelings of guilt and can have lasting damaging effects. It's best not to get pregnant in the first place.

Good Luck!! xx
