Yes it can hurt, but its easy to avoid unnecessary pain.
Simply apply a lubricant to the outside of the anus and gently massage it in. This will relax the anus muscles.
Also apply lubricant to the penis, you can never have to much lubricant with this kind of thing.
Once your ready then slowly and gently insert your penis into her anal passage. Then begin moving in and out slowly and gently. If anything feels uncomfortable or painful for either of you then stop immediately.
From experience I can tell you this can be very pleasurable, as long as this procedure is followed.

reader, anonymous, writes (14 January 2011): yes it hurts very badly. my boyfriend of 4 years and i have tried and failed. i have plenty of friends who do it all the time and all say it hurts badly at first but if the guy can get it in all the way and go slow then they say it starts to feel better and they actually enjoy it. when you try it make sure you use some sort of lubrication..they say that makes it go in easier and feel better.
