This is probably the most vague and stupid question in the world, but how do you know if you fancy someone? I've often been confused about the exact emotion you're supposed to feel when you have a serious crush on someone. I mean, just because you find someone attractive physically doesn't necessarily mean you fancy them, right? What's the difference between a crush and thinking some random guy that passed you on the road is cute? o.O

not neccicerily, if you think someone is buff because you see them walking down the street , it just means that you would go out with them if you wanted to, but fancying them is totally different

Because you can't stop thiking about that person. He's always on your mind, and it feels comforting to think of them- even if you can't have them!

I think what you are missing is a connection on an emotional level first or a meeting of the minds, someone that makes you know they "get you:, plus you have a physical attraction for them that grows out of the other connection that the two of you have ---a friendship that has caught fire is what it means to really fancy someone enough to want to be with them in a romantic way. A crush can mean the same thing, but more specifically I think a crush means an unrequited love, you really find someone attractive, but they don't really seem to be returning your feelings and attention....A relationship has to grow out of attention, and taking care of each other's emotional needs, and a deeper intellectual connection that fosters trust and respect and passion.

xLEAHx agony auntHi Anon,

A crush is really meant for a younger person finding an older person you see regularly and finding them attractive, (fancying them)and thinking about them all the time, the word crush means the same word as fancy only mostly younger people use the word crush..as for some guy you might see that passes you down the road that you think is nice would be a passing attraction, you just see this cute fit guy and think Mmmm his nice and that would be it..
