I want a female perspective on this one question though. I have been in the field of emergency services as a paramedic for over 10 years. I have had good success when it comes to dating but nothing I want to call permanent. What I have noticed is that to have a secure relationship I need to make more money. 40 grand a year isn't gonna cut it where I live. So I am going to school to get my RN degree. I am confident in my life and how I live. But I am trying to figure out how women view a male RN as a future mate. Any input women can give me would be appreciated.

I know why you might feel like some women might not take you seriously, but in my opinion, if you spend your life caring for others, why shouldn't a woman be impressed? A compassionate and stable man is a highly desirable man...at least in my opinion. If she can't get over the title, she's not worth the trouble.
Good luck.

First of all, let me say this. I come from a family of women nurses (mother, grandmother, aunts) so if anyone should be biased against male nurses, it should be me. I was the first to break the cycle and went into computer engineering, but I admire my mother (RN) immensely for being a nurse and take great interest in the nursing field in general. I think it's underpaid and under-appreciated. I also think a male RN is SUPER sexy. Why? Nurses are quick on their feet; they're sharp; they know how to handle people, stress and disasters; they're authoritative; and best of all, they're genuinely CARING. I think a male RN with a caring bedside manner is incredibly sexy. Movies like Meet the Fockers might make you fear that people would think you're weird for being a male nurse, but I think that's just Hollywood. So those are my 2 cents. Go get your license!
