 Hi, I agree with you about the site being fantastic. I have to say that I agree with ChiRaven and Deejuliet about how the volunteer moderators work to keep the site helpful and generally honest. I do have to say though, that sometimes even though a question is fake or off-base in a way, the answers it generates may help someone else later on, so even the made-up questions may serve a purpose. There's an aunt who has reminded us of this on several occasions, so I have to give her the credit for noting this point.

 We have to trust a lot on this site that people will ask honest questions and will give honest, and helpful, answers. The moderators on this site all work very hard to try to make sure that fake questions, mean or unhelpful answers dont get posted. But sometimes they can slip past even the most conscientious moderator. Welcome Mr. Anonymous. I hope you become an active and helpful member of this board!

 Well, there are a dedicate (ahem!) group of volunteer moderators who review the questions and answers before they are posted to this site. That keeps obvious junk from appearing here. There are other tests that are used (which won't be disclosed, for obvious reasons) to keep bogus posts from appearing.
Does that mean that all questions are 100% truthful? Of course not. There's nothing to keep a person from making up a plausible fictitious story and posting it here. But by and large these are real questions from real people who want help from other real people all around the world.
