writes: Hi, i just wondered if anybody can help me, ive been on the implant -implanon- for nearly 2 years, but recently had it taken out. Ive not had a period the whole time i was on the implant and i haven't had one since ive had it taken out, but me and my partner have been trying for a baby for the past 2 weeks. I don't know if i could be pregnant or not because i cant calculate when my period should be due so i don't know if ive missed it or not. Ive been feeling dizzy and feeling sick, but i did a pregnancy test last week which said negative. I really want a baby and im worried my head will be thinking im pregnant because i want it so bad. Please help, could i be pregnant? or do i need to see someone about my periods first? Thank youxxx

Excellent, you could even take your partner with you as they can talk to him about not wearing tight pants etc.
Good Luck!! xx

Did you speak to the nurse about all this when you got it taken out?
Go back to the family planning clinic and have a chat to them about it as they will have seen it all before and be experts in this kind of thing.
Your body will take a good couple of months to readjust, in the same way that you have crazy symptoms when you first go on to the pill.
I think taking folic acid helps but again, go back and talk to the family planning clinic about it and they should be able to give you all the health advice you need. They are called family planning because they can help you to GET a family, not just to prevent them.
Good Luck!! xx

The implant will re-start your periods again, and they may be very irregular, or you may have some bleeding for just one day then it may stop! These are all the side affects. But your best bet is just to take another pregnancy test in a couple of weeks to be sure. Yes, you could be pregnant, but don't get your hopes up love because the implant can do strange things!SB
