We got to go out to The Grand Canyon from working there. During that trip we got together. And its been 6months since then. Him and me are still together. He doesn't go to my school and he doesn't live near me so we don't see each other very much. I have been making up lies saying that i'm going out with my friends and i actually go with him. i know wrong right? Well I REALLY REALLY want to tell my mother about him but i'm not sure how. Her and i don't have a open relationship like other mother and daughters do. i'm scared of what she will do. She's very VERY overprotective of me! But I want to be honest with her but i'm scared of her reaction!! I'm also scared that she might want to meet him. I mean its like in a bad way but he's a rocker likes to listen to heavy metal and he has long hair. I don't know what she will think! help me!i really really want to tell her the truth!!!!! reader, anonymous, writes (24 October 2009): I'm sorry you have to be in this situation. children who have overprotective parents end up in things like this often. it is completely normal! i think your mum hasent realized yet that you are at the age where your gonna do things like these.bring on the subject of boys once in a while. maybe while going out point out a cute guy. just let her know that your not a small child anymore.
when you feel she as understood that you are into boys, bring up that you like this guy.
just keep hinting, maybe your mum will ask about it. tell her i bit about him so that she understand that you really like this guy.
then invite him over. if you think your mum will go mad about the way he looks, tell him to wear a "normal" look when he comes. invite him over a couple of times, maybe each time he could wear something that is more him.
slowly your mum will understand, she will!
i wouldnt be that surprised if she was ever in a situation like this, she was your age after all.
it will take some time for all this to happen, but in the end it will be worth it.
