 It's not a big deal, lots of girls do that. I can understand that it's embarrassing but I don't think that she'll be too shocked. The alternative is just gross... who wants to wear a diaper?

 Why do you need to tell her? If its because then she can buy them for you because you're emabarrassed then don't be embarrassed, I work in a chemist and see loads of people coming in for tampons, don't worry!! Nobody thinks anything of it. I don't get the big deal. X

Just buy some tampons if there are none in the house and leave them in the bathroom.
You don't need to sit her down and inform her that you use them over dinner.
It's just something that you expect a teenage girl to do. It'd be like you trying to figure out how to tell her that you use hair straighteners. It doesn't matter, you just use them and get on with life.
