The problem is i am just wondering how i would know if he got an erection. Would he get an erection if he was just hugging me? or would he get one if we were kissing? or would it only be sex that he got an erection in?Also if we were hugging or kissing standing up, would i still know he had an erection without having to ask him or look at his crutch lol?!! thank u for the advice

I would say that almost anytime from when I was about 16 until about 21, I would get an erection every time I went out with a girl. I pretty much kept it for the whole date, and sometimes it was uncomfortable. It was embarrassing when the girl noticed it through my pants, like when I was driving and she was sitting next to me where she could easily look down at my lap. Eventually, as I dated more, and realized that girls understood that erections are something that happen to guys, I stopped worrying about them. Of course, life became much more interesting when girls I dated got comfortable enough with me to start exploring my erection while we kissed. I really looked forward to that, although you probably wouldn't do that until you get to know your boy mate better.

Why do you want to know? Don't ask him, or stare at his groin, poor fella, he'd probably be mortified and emabarassed! Boys at that age can get erections at the drop of a hat for many reasons, several times a day without physical contact, so chances are he will have one when there's physical contact. There's no reason to draw attention to it. Or any reason that you need to know whether he has one or not. When and if that time comes, then you'll know. Boys will let you know in their own way when they want you to know too! They may push it against you or put your hand there etc, so don't worry about it.

Hey there,
It is possible, since you are both new to the sexual side of life, that he will become excited by just kissing & being close to you. I was very nervous too when I was your age of how to tell! If you are standing up kissing, then you will feel it against you if he does have one! xxx
