writes: I work in a small shop with a male lead sales assistant. We get on well, and ever since I started he made me feel welcome and comfortable. Also, we are both very shy and can be quiet. The problem is I blush when we talk (maiden shyness etc) which he has mistaken as 'fancying him'. He is at least 10 years older than me and an alcoholic which is not my type of guy. However, at work, he sort of looks after and protects me but lately he has been asking me out and urging me to talk to him more outside work (texting and calling him). I am more than happy to do this but as I know that it is only because he is under the impression I fancy him, I am worried that if I don't contact him, he will turn away and become nasty and work will not run as well for me as it is now. It has happened before, and he also doubts I really like him... what shall I do? How do I tell him the truth? Please help.
