writes:i saw a girl on a teen "dating" website and i thought she was really cute. she put her twitter up so i followed her on twitter and she followed back but she follows everyone who follows her. we spoke briefly once when i replied to a tweet she wrote and she responded but it has been a few weeks now and I want to get to know her and possible ask her out but what should I saw in a message to her? should i talk about myself or just do something completely different?thanks Reply to this Question

reader, anonymous, writes (24 June 2012): Just try starting a general conversation with her, ask her how she's doing and see where the conversation goes. Don't come on strong and tell her straight away you think she's cute and would like to date her because she probably doesn't know you enough to know whether she would like to date you or not. Get to know her better and let her get to know you and allow her to make her own judgement and opinion of you as a person, and most of all just be yourself, in order for you to have a chance in her considering a date with you she needs to know the real person she is talking to.

"Just wondering if you have Skype or Facebook, and if we could chat on there sometime. Silly Twitter character limit".
But don't use those exact words!!
Alternatively, assuming you know her full name, and perhaps a rough area she lives in, you may want to try searching for her on Skype or Facebook itself, and try adding her.
A further alternative is to just try to grab her attention a bit. Perhaps reply more to her Tweets, maybe favourite one or two, etc, etc. But don't overdo the replying, it may make you seem a tad desperate.
All this said though, one wonders why you don't just approach her on this "teen "dating" website"?
