A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Okay i'm 15 years old, i'm 5'1 and my boobs are way too big already, i just want to know if there's anything i can do to stop growing anymore! I'm already a 32F, no 15 year old at my short height should have boobs that big, and i'm really quite skinny too so i can't lose weight, i'm 7 stone i don't want to weigh less! I just want my boobs to stop growing! I was a B when i was 11, when i was 13 i was a C and then as i turned 14 i was a DD, totally skipped D, i stayed at a DD for a while until a few months ago and then i found out i'd skipped past an E too! They're getting so annoying now, my back aches from carrying the weight, surely this can't be normal at 15 to already have back pain!! Is there anything at all that could stop my boob growth from getting ridiculous?! i know it's impossible to stop it completely and it will stop eventually, but i'd rather not be H or something by that time! And i'm also a vegetarian and don't drink milk or eat eggs so i'm not eating anything high in estrogen, so is there anyone with ideas, or am i just doomed to have massive boobs and get breast reduction later when it becomes too painful?

I totally get what your worrying about!

I'm 12, just turned actually.. My boobs are a 32E!

Are you having any problems at school?

I am, trust me I go Springfield, it's not nice when boys don't like you for who you are.

If your considering breast reduction surgery, when the pain gets too awful, I'd defiantly go for it! But you'd have to consider it with your parents and your doctor.

But in the meantime think what fun you'll have when your 18!

Haha!

Anyway, do what you think is right.

:))))).

Bubblegum agony auntNo sweetie. You cant stop them growing, the best thing you can do for now is wear a very strong sports bra. When you've stopped developing you can get a breast reduction if you think its the right choice.

If you need to talk you can always e-mail me. I'm here when you need me.

Much love

As previous commenters have said, there's nothing you can do to stop your breasts from growing. Breast size is largely based on genetics, so it's pretty much encoded from birth as to what size they're going to be.

If you're having back pain, though, I'd talk to your GP about it. While you're a little young at the moment, in some circumstances breast reductions are available on the NHS.

For the moment, invest in some good bras, so that you're well supported. You can also get minimising bras which make your boobs look up to a cup size smaller, but they're definitely not the most glamorous of designs.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I completely understand I am 19 with 40H boobs. You cant stop then from growing. When I was 14 I was a 36D and I lost 40 pounds and and after losing all that weight I was a 34DD so losing weight doesn't help. I grew about a cup size every year with an occasion year skipped since I was 8. By the time I was 17 I was a 38G and at 18 I was a 40H so I have finally stopped.

As far a reduction its something to really think out. I started having really bad back pain when I was 14 because of the size of my breast however the reason I am so worried about a reduction is all the scars that you get from that procedure. I keep holdong out hoping the find a new way to reduce boobs that doesn't invovle cutting a big scar at the bottom of the breast and removing and replacing the nipple. Do a lot of research before you go under the knife. Also get bras special made mine cost on average $100 but they give me more support and hurt my back less.

Good luck!

A female reader, shaashiie United States +, writes (30 November 2008):

shaashiie agony auntYou are just going to have to wait it out - until you stop developing. My mom is 5'2" and I don't know what size her breasts are but they're huge and they cause her back to hurt all the time. She talks about a reduction all the time but puts it off.

And Shonababes is completely wrong. You do NOT have to wait until you're 21 to do anything about this, that is something that would be discussed between you, your parents, and a surgeon if you so chose that route. Which is, unfortunately, the only option you have that I can think of.

Surgery is scary but I've been through it 4 times and I'm here to talk about it :) If it's to make your quality of life better I really think you should go for it!! You have the right reasons, talk to your parents and see if you can and try to work this out with a doctor.
