A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

i used to be on the birth control yaz, but my dad thinks 60 bucks a month is a lil over doing it so i switch to a cheaper brand tht we only have 2 pay 25 a month. But ever since i switched iv been having a period every time i turn around. i know this cant be normal. i have this birth control for about 3 or 4 months now and i thot it was just because i switched but im starting to be concerned about it. i dont have any diseases because me and my boyfriend are each others only partners (that im sure of) and we use a condom every time, no exceptions. But i Do not have sex while im on my period i find that disgusting, so we havent had intercourse for the longest time. does anyone know what i could do 2 stop me from having all these periods?

Honeypie agony auntTalk to your doctor. Not all pills work the same way for each woman. This new one might just not be the right match for you.

It IS normal for the body to need an adjustment period when switching but if it feels wrong then maybe it is.

If Yaz worked for you then maybe it will be easier for your dad to shell out the $60 if the DOCTOR tells him that is the right product for you :) So go see your doctor!

ladybuglove agony auntI would look into the contraceptive called 'Seasonale' also known as 'Seasonique'. They are 91 day pills and should cause you to have very few periods. I'm assuming you'll have one every 91 days. Look into though for it side affects and risks to make sure it's safe for you.
