reader, anonymous, writes (7 January 2006): My brothe who sadly pasted away last year was also very shy the only time he wasn't was when he was drinking. But when he wasnt he could never talk to girls and always asked me to hook him up but I wouldnt I made him do it I always told him that girls like shy guys and you have to just spark up a conversation and become friends with the girl first then gradually ask her out if she shoots you down oh well her loss there are many others some girls are so cool to talk you you just have to find the right one that you will feel comfortable with thats all.Good luck

 i used to be really shy and the way i over came it was to pretend to be confident i know it sounds stupid but i got alot of friends because of it and my sence of humour kicked in now i feel fantastic i have a beautiful girlfriend a great job and im really confident in myself.im not saying itl definatly work for you but anythings worth a try .hope it works out .s.

 Dear, you could go out with male friends that are confident in approaching females. Go to parties, clubs, e.t.c. start by making friends with them and this builds up.
