writes: i really like this girl in my year. how do i know she has feelings for me? we're both 16. she is extremely shy and never talks to boys etc. however over few months she has been talkin to me online alot. and recently she talks to me everyday online and we talk a little at school. online she puts my name in her display sayin stuff about me as a joke, i wonder why would she do that? it's nice stuff about me but she must like me in order to do that coz so many people asked why my name was in her msn name! i asked her if she would wanna go to the beach which is out of our town. she said maybe she'll ask her mate. i thought this was excuse not to go however she told me today she wants to go next week coz she was ill this week. i just really really like her! i want to know how she feels about me? we are goin next week to the beach and shopping with her friend and mine. is there a way to find out if she likes me? i cant tell or ask her because i only have one chance, if she says no it will ruin everything. but i think why would she come out for the day with me? she's shy so therefore her signs are impossible to pick up! any thing i could say like: i'm not comin to see her reaction? anything please help!

reader, anonymous, writes (13 May 2009): I'm having the same problem in a way, the girl I like is very shy. We met months ago, but through a friend in common, we ended up talking on bebo. She said if I was ever in the area and needed a place to stay I was more than welcome. But I'm not sure if she means it in a friend sort of way. I should mention that i'm in my late 20's and so is she- just to let you know that things like this never change! Anyhow, I decided i might take her up on the offer, so I made up a little story that I had to be in the area that day...she said i should call in for a cup of tea!(yeah, i'm a brit)so i thought, why not? I went in, had a cup of tea and chatted to her for about an hour. I also retuned her guitar. The chat was pretty awkward as neither of us could think of anything to say...we're texting eachother alot now, but talking about silly things, telling jokes and that. I've still no idea if she likes me, but on reading your letter, and considering how you were so unsure, i'm thinking that maybe she really does like me- just as your woman obviously likes you. Women are confusing bro! EH!!

reader, anonymous, writes (18 April 2007): dont rush into anything, just build up a friendship slowly ,let her get to know who you are inside and get to know her too, if she does like you she will stick around, dont forget she is shy so if you dart in straight away you may scare her away, try to just keep her close in your life for as long as you can, and when she builds up her confidence with you , you will know if she is interested or not, without looking like youre doing it deliberatley make her feel like she is the most important and special girl you have ever met,

 If she didn't like you she wouldn't want to meet with you, plain and simple! She also would never put your name on her display. See how it goes when you go out with her, ask her friend what she thinks if you like. I'm sure in time, if you both hit it off you'll know without a doubt whether she's grown to like you more or not.
