(the most recent of which said on the box it is the exact same test they will do at the doctor's). i keep getting pains/aches in my stomach and feeling achey - any ideas what it could be? probably going to the doctors soon (i hate them so much! :( ), but just wondering what to expect really? thank you!

that is a bad title for your question, since i came in here thinking that you didnt know how to read pregnancy tests. but i was relieved when i read that you do.
gladly i have some answers for you. you can just go to your favorite drug store, buy a good brand of a pregnancy test, buy two if it makes you feel better, and test yourself once again before going to the doctor if it will ease your mind.
other than that, just wait until you see the doctor i guess. and unless you wanted to get pregnant, next time go see your gyno and get a prescription for birth control. the whole issue with the weight gain is false, it can easily be exercised away if you stay active. and by not having to worry about a baby anytime soon, there is no reason not to be active, so there you go. it is a win-win situation.

It is unusual for a GP to do a pregnancy test these days as they take the results of those chemist kits as being accurate most times. Of course if there is some doubt you can request a blood test. Pregnancy tests are only good for detecting a pregnancy hormone in your urine which becomes increasingly strong during the first three months of pregnancy (hcg). Some women find that taking the test too early gives a false negative result. However, most of the modern tests claim to be accurate after you have missed your period. My advice to you is to wait as your symptoms maybe PMT. If you don't have a period soon, go to your GP and ask for a hormone test as there maybe other reasons why it is not happening such as a thyroid problem, stress or a hormone imbalance.
