Since he's popular try dressing or doing your makeup in the type of style that the girls he likes do theirs. if you ever get the courage to ask him out when he's alone and if he says no then just say thats fine and you can always be friends. After that it might be a little wierd ( srry i cant spell . never could)at first but in time it will all just be a thing in the past and who knows, maybe later he might grow to like you!

You sound quite young. Don't hang around him too much that could get on his nerves. If he says no then leave well alone.

But assuming you ignore that.... Since he plays football. why dont you become his personal cheerleader? Get some girls together and go nuts for him at his games anytime he does anything on the field.
It worked on me and I didnt even like the girl that much. But is is an awesome ego boost having your own cheering section, esp when you bust it up the middle (fullback represent!).
You probably wont gin up anything lasting or real, but thats not what you asked.....
