I sometimes talk to her on my breaks. She is quite shy and placid. I speak to her but I'm more an accaunintance than a friend. Should I become friends or ask her out now? I am 18 and have absolutely no experience in this department whatso ever. What should I do?

See if she has a Facebook or Instant Messanger, and then add her online and try to talk to her more. Maybe see if she wants to get something to eat after work or hang out and try to spend some more time with her. Take it slow for now and just see how things go. If she is really shy, then just be friendly with her and try to get her to open up more. Make sure she feels comfortable around you. The more you talk and the more time you spend together, the closer you two will become. Then when she is more open to you and maybe after a while you two can start flirting with each other, then you ask her out and see if she wants to get serious.

Find out what she likes, and where she might like to go on a date. And ask her out. Yeah, I believe that is all there is to it :)
