Well to get over my first gf, I cut contact with her to allow me to move on.
As I felt bad, I distracted myseft by playing a long RPG (final fantasy 7) its quite long and detailed so by the time I finished it, I felt better.
The best way is to just let the sadness out, have a good cry and start something thats new and different. Do not stay in contact with him.
