I've watched that movie over 200000000000000 times, i know every word. I even know the day the location and the exact time (1:51 a.m) he died. i have a digital copy of his death certificate! i fell really depresed cause i know i cant have him. HOW THE CRAP DO I GET OVER IT???????

Natalaya is verified as being by the original poster of the question you cant find a guy that smokes ONLY cigarrets, a real tough guy not just acting, or as much as a perv. i guess the last one wasnt the best example but you get the point. i found this all in a guy when i was younger. he looked exactly like river, same laugh eyes hair. we dated idk if we still are we havnt talked in like 4 yrs.

You don't have to watch him drag a nasty divorce out in public. You don't hear his ex-wife saying he would get drunk and beat her up. You don't even have to see him make a few mediocre movies where he plays characters that aren't sexy & right for him.
As others are saying, you are in love with your own fantasy of the guy. Not the real person. You can find those qualities in other real people today if you give them a chance.

 Heh, I looked it up too. River Phoenix died at that time due to a drug overdose. I like the movie Stand By Me too, but I actually thought Kiefer Sutherland was cuter in that movie! LOL
You're obsessed with a fantasy, not the actual guy. You bonded with the thought of him through the movie you have, and you're obsessing over him. Actually, you're obsessing over a fictional character written by Stephen King that was played by River Phoenix.
You'll get over it by acknowledging the QUALITIES you're attracted to instead of the character, and seeing those qualities in other people rather than confining them to a fiction.
