Sandman agony auntWell, everything that everyone said is good. A nice, inexpensive anti-persperant deodorant is good. But because he's probably going through puberty and his body is working in overdrive, he might need a little time finding the right one for him. However, there is a saving grace.

The only reason we smell under the arm is because of bacteria reacting to our sweat. If you effectively kill most of the bacteria under the arms, you would smell (as bad). So what can you use.......ALCOHOL! Not drinking alcohol, rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol effectively kills the bacteria under the arms causing you not to smell (as bad). I use alcohol under my arms all the time - and the two times I forgot to put on deodorant, no one knew that I didn't put on any because I didn't smell. Try it!

Hope this helps.

The most basic way to hold body odor at bay is to use soap and water, scrub particularly in those areas of the body that tends to smell. Deodorant soap hinder the return of bacteria which is why this makes an excellent choice when looking for ways on how to fight body odor. He may need to shower in the AM and PM because his sweat glands and bacteria both work during the night as well as the day.

TELLULAH agony auntHi,

Yes it could be his age, and he doesnt realise how bad he smells.

But he is your boyfriend, and do you want people to take the mickey out of him, because they will. Tell him as nicely as you can that he needs to not only wash, but to use an anti-persperant.

Why not just buy him a set of shower gel and deodrant. There are some designer ones on the market that arn't to expensive. And once he gets used to wearing them, it will come natural to buy some more.
