Sounds like a classic case of love triangle. Dont go in to strong friend, makes it seem awkward and wat not. So go in easy, if shes your friend see if she wants to hang out, first in groups (hint make it all girls cept u so that she is more comfortable and sees your fem side) the lightly make it a one on one encounter. mabye a midnight drive just talking or a horror flick night or study session. this way she becomes more familiar with you then you can make your move. as a guy i wouldnt want my friends pouncing on my ex for at least a few months, but if other guys are after her, alls fair in love and war. if not, just consol her, try not to make conversations around her ex as it will only dampen your chances. If you must talk bout him, talk in the early stages of breakup so that the effect wont last as long and you can find out what he did wrong or why she still has feelings for him and use it to ur advantage.
