How do I become more approachable in dating?

A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

hello! I am quite in a predicament in terms of dating. I've been in relationships before, but after getting out of a long term relationship I seem to be having this confidence issue. Basically, I know I can woo a girl through words and actions, but recently I came to realize that how I naturally look gives off the "don't f*** with me vibe." I believe this repels girls more often than not even though I'm very caring and would even feel guilty killing a fly. People have told me to smile, but I don't know if that lessens my "mean" look... What do you recommend I do in terms of confidence and in terms of being more approachable?

not sure what you mean by your natural look giving off a keep away vibe. what do your friends say about this? listen to their opinion. is it how you dress? your body language? your attitude (tone of voice)? whatever it is, read up on how you can modify this to make yourself look/behave more welcoming to people. get into the habit of looking approachable, it will become second nature hopefully

xx
