I'm never sure if he's flirting over FB but in person he uses a few excuses to touch my hand, like when it was snowing and he gave me his gloves then held my hands to warm me up (on several occassions).Anyway, I think I like him and I think he might like me too, but I'm not sure he dates younger girls (I'm not THAT young don't worry) (17). We haven't seen each other latley, and I've missed that. I'd like to initiate just hanging out, but I'd prefer it to be at his or at neutral ground (I hate having people round). The thing is, I can't... I have difficulty expressing things in the way that I mean... And I want it to be like just friends but with the possibility of something more. How do I ask him to hang out? I'm quite inexperienced and also are there any excuses I could use to touch his hand or something next time we're together, to gauge his interest?Thank you in advance :)

OP while YOU are 17 how old is this "older man" you say a few years... if he's 19/20... then maybe it would be ok... older than 20 to your 17... at this point the gap is too much.
touching his hand will not gauge his interest. he may smile, he may be startled and pull back.
if he's over 21 he may be interested but know that you are too young at this point.
