How do I approach her without feeling nervous?

A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi. I like this girl a year ahead of me in school. She only has half a year left untill she goes off to another school somewere. If we did end up going out, then I'd see her over the summer, and we might go to the same school (we're both CONSIDERING one, but that doesn't guarantee anything). If we don't end up going out, we could never see eachother again. I don't know her too well, so If I ask her out I might seem too quick. If I wait too long, though, then it might never happen. I'm not sure of her feelings for me. I think she MIGHT like me, but I'm not sure.

I want to be freinds first, but I also don't want to loose her.

Also, I'm nearvos around her. I want to be able to approach her without blowing a vein. Talking to her is fine, she and I are both pretty intelligent (even if I can't spell), nice, and funny. I just can't really approach her... Please help, If you can.

Laura1318 agony auntJust relax and don't be tense. Think of her like she is your sister or just a friend. She maybe tense too.

You can ask your buddy to accompany you and it wont be so obvious and he can chatter when you are blank in your mind.He is like your wings...

Bite the bullet and go for it! If you like this girl its worth finding out if she feels the same way about you. I'm sure if all goes well and you end up going to diffent ways after school there are ways of staying together. Just go for it, you'll never know for sure how she feels if you don't ask her!
