Coming from personal experience, just tell her how you feel. That opens up so many doors. You never know what could happen once the idea of you two being together is brought to her attention. One of the sweetest ways, in my opinion, to tell her how you feel is to write her a quick note telling her your feelings for her. Make it sweet and to the point. Have your mutual friend give it to her and while she is reading it, you sneak up behind her so you are there when she gets done reading it.
My best friend and my ex bf had this planned for when he asked me out...unfortunately, he chickened out. Trust me, girls like it when you take the initiative to go the extra mile for them. The sweeter and the more like a "dream come true" you can make it from the beginning for her, the better chance you will get!
