A reader, anonymous, writes (18 May 2011):

For some reason I have always had the best luck meeting people at birthday parties...I don't know what it is about them. Perhaps it's just a wider circle of people that get invited, who don't know each other and who are forced to mingle.

Over the past 5 years I've gotten at least 4 dates and 2 relationships that all started at a friend's birthday party. If a friend invites you to their birthday party, don't make excuses, go and meet people you don't know already.

chigirl agony auntOne I met at a party.

One I met at work.

One I met online.

One I met through friends in high school and we maintained a friendship for 8 years and then ended up as a couple.

And if you count flings I met 3 more at a party, then one through a classmate in high school.

Doesn't matter where you met them. What matters is that you communicate well, there's a spark, and you are both kinda into each other, then take it to the next level by flirting with them.

iloveblue agony auntOk, I would like to answer this question even though I am not a teenager. :)

I have been chatting with this guy online for about a year. But after a hundred times of turning him down and telling him I am not interested other than having online friends, he followed me at a bar. And from then on, he visits me during weekends. We were not exclusive then, I was seeing other guys for friendly dates and he has a gf back to his city. Then after about 2 months he asked me to be exclusive as he said he is in love with me. He also found out his gf was cheating on him. So they mutually ended things and he moved to my city. Found a job here and now we are together for 2 years.

Met my husband in the very first month in my 1st year at uni. He singled me out b'se I challenged a lecturer on some mathematical computation which he had got wrong and asked me for a short discussion on the same topic. He was my 1st b/f and I was his 1st g/f. 9 year later, we are happily married

for now 3 years with a 1.5 years old baby and still in love like never before. We are successful as I just finished my PhD and he has a Masters. Life can't be more beautiful, I wish all men out there were like him. My life begins and ends with him!!!

Fancied my boyfriend from afar for 3 years before I finally got the courage to speak to him he didn't have a clue who I was! It was in a park next to a river and it was a clear night with a full moon. It was beautiful and we have been together for 5 years now.

Just curious why are you asking?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (17 May 2011):

not a teenager anymore, but it's just a couple of years since I was.

I met my fiancé online. I was just being curiose about my sister (who was a member on the site) and wanted to check her out so I made a profile. And then he, among some other guys, sent me a mail and I sent one back (because I liked the mail). Never meant to actually start mailing with people but he seemed really nice. And a week later we met up and fell quite instantly for each other. 5 years togheter this spring. :D

person12345 agony auntI'm not a teenager, but I met my boyfriend in college.

We had both transferred late into a class neither of us wanted to be in. I don't know what it was, but basically I saw him and felt this REALLY strong attraction, like nothing I'd ever felt before. We would run into each other a lot and wound up talking. I ended up asking him out over Facebook and we've been together for over two years now.
