Just because some people are like that doesn't mean everybody is. why not try and reduce your self-consciousness e.g try new styles, hair makup. this should reduce the problem

What you are discribing is very common, I'm affraid all that is wrong is a lack of self esteem. The people are working in shops to help the likes of us, we are! after all the customers, and without us they wouldnt have jobs would they?.
I understand that some shop assistants can be rather intimidating, but most are fine and I'm sure will be only too willing to help. If you do see one laugh at you, for any reason then report them to the manager. Remember its you that is the paying customer, so dont let anyone make you feel un-easy.
In life! not everyone will like you, and its unrealistic to think that they will. But you should expect the same ammount of respect as anyone else that walks into a store.
Hold your head up babe, and stop worrying over silly things.

Hi
Why do you think it's the way look? If you think it's because of the way you dress/look only ever change who YOU are and what YOU look like for 1 reason only and thats YOU. If you are going to change then good luck but...
It could be that there not laughing at you and don't worry most sales associates don't help anyway. If you are really woried I would say take yor ipod/mp3 and just listen to music so you can't hear them and walk as a confident female :D

i have the exact same problem. i was overweight and i felt as if ever1 was making fun of me and just staring at me coz i dress in black and coz of my weight. but then i realised that im not shopping for them or im not there for them im there for me and me only. they can all get F***ed lol so dont worry if they r maybe they like what ur wearing or they r jealous. you just need more confidence. and the sales ppl just ignore me and just say hi to my mum and sis.
