 One sign that I have seen in action was the line "are you with anyone?" or "do you like anyone right now?" they also get a little upset when you get somewhat flirty with your male friends in general. He might butt into the conversation or just sit from a distance and stare. Then again, guys are very hard to read. They give countless mixed signals and get the girls all revved up just to find that the boys aren't into them.
