 I think that guys usually checks out a girl first before they talk to girls,it a natural reaction.If they wont to sleep with you like the first moment you meet them then its obvious,but its hard to say every guy is different some see woman as a one night stand of a rebound person. The only way to know is if he'll wait for it,meaning sex. If he says if you love me than dot,dot,dot then its clear he's there for one thing and thats a low blow move any day of the week.I personly I wont to know any one I consider dating for a year b/c then I know all there stupid behaviors and I'm a guy.But one of girl friends she was 16 and actually made her boy friend wait a whole year be fore they did it.She new him way before that though but she was unsure like you about his true intentions.And don't trust guys word to try and sway you keep your mind on the goals you make for your self in this catagory especally.

 Really the only way to tell is by his actions. If he only calls you when he wants to make out or feel you up, or have sex, then he probably isn't very interested in anything but your body.
However, if you can talk on the phone, or in persona about common interest, and the conversation doesn't have to be pushed, then he is most likely very interested in you as a person.
Just look at how he treats you.
