How can you be in something too deep that hasn't begun?

Explain this ! Why is it that you kiss a girl and repeatedly kiss her basically lead her on and then we recieve messages sayin '' i know this is gunna sound tight but can we forget about what happened with us . i feel like im in too deep!''

Tbh . this lad that i like has been walking me home putting his arms around me , and then last night kisses me , we do not go out or anything , but i recieve that message . why ? he did that all on his own i never asked him to do anything , so how can you be in something to deep that hasnt begun . do explain because im losing hope.

In the book Angel by Katie Price, the two main characters, Angel and Cal kiss at the beginning of the book, and he has a girlfriend and texts Angel to ask her to forget about it and they end up married.

It's not real life, but it's the best example I could think of. Don't feel too disheartened subtly let him know you like him but let him do the chasing.
