A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

She found out few weeks ago I like her I spoke and admitted it. She spoke later saying she doesn't feel the same. We were close friends but now she talks ok when I talk but most of time she avoids talking like walks faster when I'm near her. Its ripping me up inside as before we would be together all the time. How can I be friends again?

A male reader, Bushrod United States +, writes (25 March 2008):

That's a tough one. I'd have to say that you should try and get her to talk with you once and tell her that you wanted her to know how you felt but at the same time didn't want to ruin your friendship which by telling her how you felt made her uncomfortable. I don't think you'll ever be the friends you once were. If you can't get her to talk to you then you need to just try and ignore her and give her some space and time to sort her thoughts and feelings out.
