reader, anonymous, writes (9 April 2007): Just ask her 'would you like to go somewhere with me?' That way it looks more like a friendship meeting than a date, plus it won't add all the extra nerves on you. Then at there you could hint that you would like to date her.

Ask her in a casual way, so effectively it dosen't sound like a date. For instance there is this movie at the cinema that i have been dying to see, do you fancy coming along. Or there is this resturant near me that does the best food, we will have to go there, so how about it.
Keep it light hearted, as if you are asking a friend out. Im sure she will jump at the chance.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 April 2007): maybe you can ask her to go out to coffee or go somewhere you both would enjoy----not calling it a real "date" just two friends going somewhere together......find out what she likes to do, and then ask her if she would like to go there with you.....just say--not a date...just us getting to know each other.....
