I mean I live with him and I want to be friends still so what can I do? It aint like I never gonna see him again he's my best friends he always will be.What can I do do help this, I feel if I carry on it will ruin it more.

Hurting him will only make things harder afterwards. If your going to end it you need to be definite. Sit him down one day and just talk a few things through before you get onto the subject and just broach it. "(name) maybe its best if we are just friends atm with everything going on" kinda thing? I don't know what your boyfriend is like so not sure how he would react but that would be my gut instinct on this one =]
good luck
