I admit that i come out with the occasional "blond" comment and yes i do do stupid or naive things every now and then but who doesnt? The worse thing is that my closest friend is always making jokes about what ive said or done in front of our other friends but i think she does it to make everyone laugh before she is the "funny one" of the group. I hate everyone laughing at my expense all the time and its destroying my self esteem because now i think im incapable of doing things or im worried i'll mess up. I cant confront my friend because i live with her and i dont want to create an atmosphere between us, especially with our exams coming up, but i dont know what to do.Im 20 so i shouldnt be letting it affect me so much. I guess im emotionally immature and i try not to be but it doesnt stop me from feeling like a helpless and naive child. How can i stop this?

aw sweetie this must be so hard for you. dont think youre emotionally immature because your not anyone going through that with their friends would feel the same. you need to talk to your closest friend and tell her how she is making you feel. it sounds like she wants to be the centre off attention, and she is willing to do anything to be there. even hurt her best friend. if she refuses to stop treating you this way then she is not worth the hassle. if you really dont want to lose your friend then maybe try to play her at her own game. im sure shel soon stop.

Just be a bit more aware of what you're going to say BEFORE you say it! And hey, if you do say something "blonde" YOU be the first to say duh... blonde moment there! If you try and not let it get to you so much then you'll find they'll laugh WITH you and not AT you! You may want to do a self esteem test to check and see just how much self esteem you do have. Here is a link for you to try the test.
