writes:Im so fed up with people thinking im jealous of my twin sister. We went out on Saturday and I got a bit too drunk. I cant go out much because I have a baby, but she's always out. She knows loads of people, so while she was talking to all her friends, I sat by myself trying to recover a bit. Some boy said 'you wana smile love, just because shes getting all the atention and your not, your jealous! I would be too if my sister looked like that' and he laughed in my face. Im not jealous, It just hurts when people go out of their way to put me down, im so depressed. How can i prove to people im not jealous?

reader, anonymous, writes (1 April 2008): Hi, I see where you are coming from, my mom is a twin and people always used to comment on how great it must be. She said it has fewer pros than cons. You see, like you her sister got alot of attention and had a lot of friends due to the lifestyle she lead where as my mom had a house and babies to look after, that was her choice and now even in her later life my mom remains a very private person with just a small circle of friends. There is nothing what so ever wrong with that.
Also I understand the way that you feel as I have 2 children and do not go out very often myself, you dont need to take other peoples comments to heart, just be sure to enjoy the time you do get out, lifes too short.
You know you are not jelous of your sister and why should you be, you are both beutiful in different ways. I know Im not jelous of my sister or my friend, that doesnt mean occassionally I dont wish that my life was a little more like theres. x

reader, anonymous, writes (1 April 2008): I know I cant stop people thinking that about me, but i just cant handle them saying it to me. I suppose i need advice on how to stop being so sensitive. When i go out without her i get chatted up all the time, people automatically asume i have to be jealous because shes gorgeous. Im just not a jealous person.

 You don't have to prove anything to people that you are not jealous.
Others can form whatever opinion of you .
You cannot control what they think.
They are entitled to what they think.
Just leave those who think that way.
You can accept or reject their thinking.
You have that power.
Don't try convincing others.
It is a futile exercise.
Just be who you are and be happy .
