But the thing is, when we're hanging out and stuff I often feel like she wants to be touched. I don't mean grabbing her butts/breasts/whatever, you know, maybe a cheerful hug or something. The thing is, when it comes to casually hugging people, I'm not used to it :) I grew up with my father, I don't even remember what my mom looked like. We didn't hug at all and I never saw my father hugging a woman. Most times I literally lose balance or step on the person's feet while hugging. And I'm not clumsy, I think maybe I just try too hard.I would try practicing on friends, but that's not that easy, as they love their "personal space", or whatever you call it, just the way I do.So, that's it, if you have any advice, I would be really grateful.PS. I'm Russian, so no offense if any part of this is messy or rude :) Reply to this Question Share |

There are a lot of simple ways to be affectionate without feeling awkward or clumsy in public. When you and your girlfriend sit together, try leaning against her shoulder, and if she leans back into you, put your arm around her. Also, brief touches are good for starters - a hand on her back, or knee if you are sitting, leave it there for a few seconds before taking it away. When you get more comfortable with this, hugging will come naturally!
