writes:hello, i am almost 18 years old.i have been living in a new city for a few days now and i do not know anyone (except for some neighboors here and there but no to hang out with). these past couple of days i have not have much chance to meet anyone because i am unpacking, cleaning, familiarizing myself with the stores etc....my question is, soon i will need to meet some friends and possibly a girlfreind. simply stated. how do i meet people and possibly get a girlfriend.i must state this. i have never had a girlfriend or even kissed a girl before. maybe because i am ugly, weird (yes but i am comfortable with my unquieness), not the richest of people, or shy. i am going to try to break out of my shell because atleast the last one is cureable.p.s. i am going to look for a part time job soon so maybe i will meet some people there. also i am attending a trade school (electricity) in a few weeks but proabably not too many girls are going to be there.

reader, anonymous, writes (4 July 2007): hello hun, hope ure settling in in the new city. i too am in 16 days going to be 18 and i know that moving to a new area can be hard. i moved to a new city when i was 16 and now i have found out im pregnant am having to do it all over again. for a start i think that getting a job, apprentiship or going to college will enable you to meet new friends. Go on msn or create an account and search for people in your area. join a club or charity. an advice centre called 'connexions' could also help you.. good luck

 I suggest to take dance lessons. Learn salsa, waltz, tango, etc...basically walk in there and tell them you want to learn to dance so that you can dance at peoples weddings. That will cover all the dance that you need to know.
Lots of girls take dance classes, and even more want to date a guy that can dance.

 Well since its summer why dont you join some sort of activities club and meet people there thats always great way to meet people who enjoy your tastes.If your joining the trade school even though you wont meet girls you can meet other friends who can introduce you to peoplethrough going out to shopping centres, parties etc.As for you looks and money if a girl only likes you for your looks and cash well shes really not worth it is she?
