writes: How do I know if he will write back to me?I'm friend to this guy in the Air Force. We've been keeping in touch since December last year. He's in Aviano Italy, but recently got orders to come back to the U.S. but didn't told me where exactly. I asked him to please write me when he gets home at least to know where he is. He said that he will, but I have my doubts cause he always forget about things and is pretty busy with the moving and stuff. What can I do to make me sure he will indeed write me back, or just wait and believe him. I'm so afraid to be let down and not knowing from him ever again. I really like him. you can't make him do anything and if he is absolutley positive about keeping in touch, he will.
maybe, he has got alot on at the moment but i'm sure he will keep your details and when he is ready, settled and prepared to get in touch, he will.
don't worry, and certainly don't push the subject, you need to give him the space he needs and he'll contact you in due course.
best of luck

If so, I would suggest sending a quick note a couple of weeks before his departure date as a reminder to let you know where he will be located once back home.
That's about all you can do. But, if he really wants to stay in touch, he will.
